Paste a script from Notion, Google Docs, ChatGPT, or your own markdown, adjust the size, speed, and side margins, then press Space. That's the whole app. No sign-up, no tracking, no ads, no upsell. Silly apps like this should be free.
What is a teleprompter?+
A teleprompter displays scrolling text so a presenter can read a script while looking toward the camera or audience. This one runs entirely in your browser. Paste a script, press play, and the text scrolls at the speed you set.
Is this teleprompter really free?+
Yes. No sign-up, no paywall, no ads, no tracking, no upsell. Silly apps like this should be free. If it's useful, you can tip me a coffee, but you never have to.
Does it work with Notion?+
Yes. Copy any Notion page or block, paste it into the editor, and the formatting (headings, bold, italics, lists, quotes, code) is converted to clean markdown automatically. The same smart paste works from Google Docs, ChatGPT, Slack, Word, and most web pages.
Does it support markdown?+
Full markdown: headings, bold, italics, strikethrough, inline code, fenced code blocks, bullet and numbered lists, block quotes, horizontal rules, and GFM extensions like task lists and tables. Type markdown directly or let smart paste convert rich text into markdown for you.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?+
No install, no account, no email. Open the page, paste your script, hit play. Your script is saved in your browser's local storage, so if you close the tab and come back later, it's still there.
Can I use it with a physical teleprompter rig?+
Yes. Press M (or click the mirror button in the toolbar) to flip the text horizontally so it reads correctly when reflected off a beam-splitter mirror in front of a camera lens.
How do I change the scroll speed?+
Drag the Speed slider in the top toolbar, or use the up and down arrow keys. Each arrow press adjusts the speed by 10 pixels per second. There are keyboard shortcuts for text size (+ / −) and margins ([ / ]) too. The full list is one click away via the Shortcuts button.
Does it work on mobile or tablet?+
It runs on modern phone and tablet browsers, but it's really designed for desktop or laptop use, since the sliders and keyboard shortcuts are much more comfortable on a bigger screen with a keyboard.
Is my script uploaded anywhere? Is it private?+
Your script never leaves your device. It's saved only in your browser's local storage. There is no server, no database, and no analytics tied to the text you write.
